Enjoyable ways to support natural detoxification

IMG_1382As I’ve mentioned previously, detoxification is a natural process that our body goes through to expel chemicals that we come into contact with daily. While it's best to avoid those chemicals, it’s also important to support your body's detoxification methods in order to attain optimal health and lose weight. But don’t worry, that doesn't mean you have to go on a vegetable juice diet, or deprive yourself from all enjoyment. By following a few of the following step, you will support your organs and help assist your body in ridding itself of stored toxins!Simple & enjoyable ways to detox:Supplements:Cilantro (coriander)- Cilantro is a powerful herb for detoxification. It effectively pulls out heavy metals that are stored in the brain. It can be taken in capsule form, in its natural state or added to fresh vegetable juice. Most effective when taken with chlorella.Broken cell wall chlorella - Chlorella is a seaweed that pulls heavy metals that are stored in bones and fat cells and escorts them from the body.Lifestyle:Don’t eat after 9pm- Our liver goes through a detoxification and regeneration stage between 11pm at 4 am. If we eat late at night, it prohibits our liver from detoxing as our body must focus on digestion. This is why many people who eat late at night have no morning appetite and skip breakfast. Their liver never got the chance to detoxify and needs a break from digestion.Sauna Therapy- One of the most effective ways that we can remove toxins is through sweating. What better way than to sit in a hot sauna for 20 minutes a day? Near infrared saunas are the most effective as they are proven to kill damaged RNA and DNA cells and remove heavy metals from the body. However, exercising, and laying out in the hot sun are also effective.Detox Baths- If you can’t invest in Sauna therapy (like myself) aim to take a few detox baths a week. Fill a bath with hot water and add either 8 oz epsom salts or 4 oz raw apple cider vinegar. Detox baths are a relaxing way to support the skin in elimination of toxins. Adding a few drops of lavender essential oils is optional especially for reducing stress.Skin brushing- This supports the lymphatic system and keeps skin looking and feeling vibrant, by increasing circulation and assisting in the removal of toxins.NutritionVegetable juice consumption: Fresh vegetable juice is high in antioxidants, nutrients and minerals that are easily absorbed when consumed. If you have a juicer, 4-8oz of organic vegetable juice first thing in the morning is a great way to support liver detoxification. Avoid store-bought juices as they are pasteurized and high in sugar. All of the following are powerful ways to support the detoxification process, and are quite enjoyable. So if you can, make it a habit to commit to one or two of these practices weekly and enjoy the noticeable health benefits. Do you make detoxification a part of your health routine?
